Heat shrink butt connectors provide an easy and safe method of connecting copper cores exposed to humidity. The application of a transparent external sleeve enables visual inspection of the connection. For permanent sealing, the connector should be crimped using an appropriate tool, and then the sleeve shrunk with a heat gun.
